The Doo Wop Project: Celebrating Classic Sounds with a Modern Twist
The Doo Wop Project, featuring Broadway talents Charl Brown, Dwayne Cooper, John Dias, Russell Fischer, and Dominic Nolfi, has launched their latest album, Echoes of the Street. This marks the group's fifth full-length album, showcasing their tribute to doo wop's origins while creatively reinterpreting contemporary hits. Produced by Sonny Paladino and released under Joy Machine Records, the album includes 12 tracks that blend R&B classics, pop favorites, and musical theater songs. Highlights include renditions of "My Girl," "Get Lucky," and "Somewhere," alongside their first original track, "Ooh Whee (That Doo Wop Song)," penned by songwriter Elliot Lurie. To celebrate the album's release, they held a special concert at Sony Hall in New York City on October 7th and will embark on a nationwide tour throughout 2025, featuring a brand new 90-minute show titled Echoes of The Street. The tour will include performances across various cities, ensuring fans can enjoy their unique sound live.
